My Sports ID Card: Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: June 21, 2025

 

  1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines the permissible and prohibited conduct for all users of the My Sports ID Card website, mobile applications, and all related services, features, content, and products (collectively, the “Platform”), owned and operated by My Sports ID Card (“My Sports ID Card,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This AUP is an integral part of our Terms of Service. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to abide by this AUP, as well as our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and NIL Compliance Policy. Failure to comply with this AUP may result in the suspension or termination of your account, removal of content, and other actions as deemed appropriate by My Sports ID Card, up to and including reporting to law enforcement or relevant athletic bodies.

 

Our goal is to foster a positive, secure, and respectful community where athletes, coaches, agents, and fans can connect, build brands, and engage in compliant NIL activities.

 

  1. General Principles of Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the Platform by, any third party. Your use must always be consistent with the professional and community-oriented nature of My Sports ID Card.

 

  1. Prohibited Activities and Content

You agree not to use the Platform to engage in, facilitate, or promote any of the following prohibited activities or content:

 

3.1. Illegal or Unlawful Activities:

  • Any activity that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Promoting, facilitating, or engaging in illegal acts, including but not limited to, fraud, theft, identity theft, drug use, gambling (outside of legally permitted fundraising activities), or distribution of illegal materials.
 

3.2. Harmful, Abusive, or Offensive Content:

  • Hate Speech: Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, bigotry, racism, or violence against any group or individual based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Harassment & Bullying: Content that harasses, bullies, intimidates, threatens, or demeans any individual or group, whether through explicit language, intimidation tactics, or repetitive unwelcome contact.
  • Violence & Incitement: Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence, self-harm, or encourages others to engage in harmful activities.
  • Obscene, Pornographic, or Sexually Explicit Content: Any content that is sexually explicit, pornographic, or depicts nudity in a non-sports, non-artistic, or exploitative manner. This includes implied or suggestive content.
  • Defamation & Libel: False, misleading, or malicious statements that damage the reputation of others.
 

3.3. Intellectual Property Infringement:

  • Copyright Infringement: Uploading, sharing, or otherwise making available copyrighted material (e.g., music, videos, photos, logos, written content) without proper authorization, license, or valid fair use defense.
  • Trademark Infringement: Using trademarks or brand names without proper authorization, particularly in a manner that could cause confusion about endorsement or affiliation.
  • Unauthorized Use of Institutional IP: As detailed in our NIL Compliance Policy and Terms of Service, you are strictly prohibited from using the logos, uniforms, mascots, facilities, or other intellectual property of any educational institution, athletic conference, or sports organization in your NIL activities or profile, unless you have obtained explicit, written permission and a compliant license from that entity.
 

3.4. Security and System Integrity Violations:

  • Hacking & Unauthorized Access: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform, user accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Platform.
  • Malware & Viruses: Uploading or distributing viruses, worms, Trojan horses, corrupted files, or any other destructive or deceptive software.
  • Spam & Unsolicited Communications: Sending unsolicited commercial emails, junk mail, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any other form of “spam.” Using automated systems to send messages or post content.
  • Interference: Disrupting the normal operation of the Platform or interfering with other users’ enjoyment of the Platform.
  • Data Mining/Scraping: Using any automated system or software to extract data from the Platform for unauthorized purposes.
 

3.5. Misrepresentation and Fraud:

  • Impersonation: Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.
  • False Information: Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading information, especially during account registration, profile creation, or financial transactions.
  • Fraudulent Activities: Engaging in any fraudulent schemes, scams, or deceptive practices, particularly related to NIL deals, fundraising, or merchandise sales.
 

3.6. Privacy Violations:

  • Unauthorized Data Collection: Collecting, storing, or publishing personally identifiable information about other users without their express consent.
  • Doxing: Publishing private or personally identifiable information about another person without their consent, particularly with malicious intent.
 

3.7. Commercial Use and Unauthorized Advertising:

  • Unauthorized Advertising: Promoting or advertising products or services not directly related to your My Sports ID Card profile or approved NIL activities (e.g., unsolicited advertisements in comments or DMs).
  • Reselling Services: Reselling, sublicensing, renting, or leasing any part of the Platform or its services without explicit written permission from My Sports ID Card.
 

3.8. Sports-Specific Prohibitions:

  • Doping/Performance Enhancers: Promoting, discussing, or facilitating the use of banned substances or illegal performance-enhancing drugs.
  • Academic Dishonesty: Using the Platform to facilitate or promote cheating, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty.
  • Sports Betting/Gambling Promotion: Directly promoting or facilitating sports betting, gambling, or related activities (unless explicitly permitted and regulated by our NIL policy as a legitimate endorsement).
  • Undermining Integrity of Sport: Any activity that could compromise the integrity of athletic competitions, including match-fixing, bribing officials, or engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct that harms the reputation of sport.
 
  1. Content Standards

When creating your profile or submitting any User Content to the Platform, you agree to the following standards:

  • Accuracy: Your content should be accurate where it states facts, and genuinely held where it states opinions.
  • Appropriateness: Content should be relevant to the Platform’s purpose (sports identity, branding, fundraising) and appropriate for a general audience, including youth.
  • Respectful Tone: Maintain a respectful and positive tone. Avoid derogatory remarks, offensive language, or aggressive behavior.
 
  1. Reporting Violations

If you encounter any content or activity on the Platform that you believe violates this AUP or our other policies, please report it immediately using our reporting tools or by contacting our support team at [support@mysportsidcard.com]. Provide as much detail as possible to assist us in our investigation.

 

  1. Enforcement and Consequences of Violations

My Sports ID Card reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine whether a violation of this AUP has occurred. Upon discovering a violation, we may take any and all actions we deem appropriate, including, but not limited to:

  • Issuing a warning.
  • Removing or modifying offending User Content.
  • Temporarily suspending your account.
  • Permanently terminating your account.
  • Reporting the activity to relevant authorities (e.g., law enforcement, NCAA, state high school athletic associations) if required by law or deemed necessary to protect the integrity of the Platform, the safety of users, or the reputation of sport.
  • Pursuing legal action against you.

My Sports ID Card is not responsible for any direct or indirect consequences (e.g., loss of athletic eligibility, scholarships, legal penalties) that may result from your violation of this AUP or any applicable laws or athletic regulations.

 

  1. Policy Updates

My Sports ID Card reserves the right to modify or update this AUP at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website. Your continued use of the Platform after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised AUP.
